We're in that wonderful time of the year.
Wonderfully crazy busy for some. Wonderfully emotional for others. And wonderfully happy if you're under the age of 12.
I’d like to encourage you to take a step back from the whirlwind.
Why am I doing this? What am I doing adding MORE to your to-do list? Have you even got time to read this blog post?
It's very easy to stop the self care in December.
It's super duper busy. But this is often when we need it most.
So, I have 5 healthy happy habits for you to try on a daily basis.
Some days you may only manage one. Some days maybe all 5. I'll be dropping hints and tips on all of them over email if you sign up to my email list below.
Your magic 5 take very little time. Can be accomplished on a daily basis. And can make a difference to your energy levels, ability to keep going and actually get to Christmas in one piece.
These 5 are:
1. Drink up. Water (not mulled wine). Try and increase your water consumption to at least 8 glasses of water daily. It will help with afternoon energy dips and evening headaches.
2. Get outside. Every day. Consciously. Whatever the weather try and get outside for a few minutes in daylight as early in the morning as you can. Look up at the sky, the trees and your surroundings and take a big gulp of fresh air.
3. Move every joint in your body. Yes, move. From head to toes. It doesn't need to be a vigorous workout. Just stretch. Wiggle your toes. Stretch your arms above your head. Don't worry. I'll be giving you some tips.
4. Take a deep breath. Seriously. Do it now. Breath deeply in through your nose for the count of three and out for the count of 5. Repeat 3 times. Do this whenever you feel the whirlwind of life is getting the better of you.
5. Rest. Get to bed early when you can. Take a moment to sit and stare out of the window. Do something creative that calms you. Tell yourself you are resting and you will. Even if just for a moment. I’m sure Santa will reward you.
See, it’s not complicated or time consuming. See how many you can tick off this season.
