Nourish, don't punish

Nourish yourself.

I've said this a few times recently.

To me this is more than about food.

It's a willingness to allow that food to be full of goodness that benefits you. That you enjoy and savour.

It's also about how you're living your life, spending your time, moving your body.

Yes, I think exercise should be nourishing too.

Not punishing. Exercise that you actually love, that feels good for body and mind.

And rest, sleep, who we spend time with, how we spend our free time.

How does all this add up to nourishing and supporting your health, hormones and feel good factor?

I think knowing more about why you’re doing things, rather than following the herd, and understanding what works for you (not your friends/colleagues/sister/mum/health guru) so that you can keep on doing it is important.

Because it means that you’ll stay connected. You’ll want to actually continue because it works with your life.

It can sometimes be puzzling for new clients, that for the first few weeks they just focus on posture and moving well, or adding or subtracting one or two things from their daily routine.

It adds up to big, long term shifts

Often my clients have come to me because they’ve tried slimming clubs, gyms, personal trainers, they’ve fallen on and off the wagon so many times they’ve lost count.

They come to me so that they can make long term lifestyle shifts that work for them.
